The British Omnis Developer Group
|
|||
|
The British Omnis Developer Group (or BODG) was formed in order for British
Omnis developers to share their knowledge and experiences and to network with
one another. The group also exists as a portal for third parties to access
developers who are skilled in Omnis. The aim of BODG is to act as a major point
of contact for all Omnis developers in the UK, including those that have Omnis
skills but are not paid-up members of Raining Data's "Omnis Developer Partner
Program". This is because we recognise that there are many skilled programmers
who work with licenced software only while contracted to a client but for one
reason or another, are not ODPP subscribers.
|
We keep in touch via email and meet up on an adhoc
basis either socially or for technical knowledge sharing. Meetings are
informal, though on each occasion, there might be a focus on a single topic for
discussion. | |||
| At some meetings we shall incorporate demos of Omnis
products, 3rd party software or our own projects but the focus is always on
training and sharing knowledge.
| The group is open to both seasoned and new Omnis
developers. BODG is a great way for Omnis developers to make useful contacts
and share valuable knowledge. Please register here to get involved.
| Registered members of BODG may opt for various privacy
levels according to whether they would like to be contacted by agencies or
potential clients or whether they would like to be merely kept informed of
Omnis events. Members' details will not be disclosed to any third parties,
without the express consent of the member him or herself.
| BODG was originally conceived by Andy Hilton, Craig
Anderson, Gavin Foster, Keith Bartlett and Rupert Cutler. Other members include
names like Caroline Wilkins, famous for her leading edge web application
development in Omnis and appearances at International Omnis developer
conferences and Nick Harris, founder and organiser of Euromnis, the major
biannual European Omnis Training Event which takes place in the Netherlands.
